My Art Studio
2020
Around 7 years ago my parents decided to buy a mediterranean style house on Gibson island which is caressed by the Chesapeake Bay on one side and the Magothy River on the other. My house faces the Magothy River and the view is spectacular; it almost feels like you are somewhere else, perhaps in Spain or Italy due to the architectural style of the house mixed with the 180* view.
I arguably have the best room in the house, and my parents know it. The old owners turned what once was a screened in porch connected to what is now my room, into a little room with windows on all sides that face the river view. When we bought the house I was still in middle school, living at home and this was my art studio. I have a drafting table and a couple of boxes filled with old art supplies underneath. However, sadly I have no material such as canvas's to exercise these supplies.
I have no stool so I stole one from the kitchen and I have to sit on a pillow to reach the height of the level drafting table. I feel comfortable in this space, but simply being at home during "classes" is distracting and is definitely going to challenge me. I am very bummed about not beginning my senior spring on the right foot, but I'm remaining positive and hopeful.
