2020

Physically, the change to creating from home is both big and small. Big in terms of that all the equipment which I focused on practicing this year – laser cutter, 3D printer, etc. are gone and obviously hard to replace anytime soon. This would be a big hit upon the form of my pieces, which now is mostly limited to digital art. Yet the change is also small. Since I have been doing digital art when on campus anyway, the forced transition is not as unacceptable as I previously imagined.

Emotionally, honestly, I haven’t taken the time to let the emotion settle down and really assess what learning from a distance in the last trimester of my Tabor career means to me. It is exciting that this is a new experience and online learning indeed has been a popular topic for a while and a frequenter of science fictions. It is also sad and disappointing that my Tabor experience shall end virtually.

Creatively, leaving a physical space with peers all working on their art pieces is definitely a big hit on productivity. However, I also see this as an opportunity to practice better time management. So, we shall wait and see how all of this goes!
